SOUTH AFRICAN FYNBOS is an initiative to promote South Africa's Fynbos heritage.
The best of 7000 Fynbos species are distilled into Tastings, Apothecary Workshops and a distinctive South African culinary and homeware range.
South Africa's national flower, the King Protea and health-boosting Rooibos tea are both species of these ancient, indigenous plants known collectively as Fynbos (fine bush-Dutch/Afrikaans).
Table Mountain, in the heart of Cape Town, stands at the centre of the Cape Floristic Region, which covers an area of 78 555 square km along the west and east coasts of mainly the Western Cape Province. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2004, this floral kingdom is one of the world's great centres of terrestrial biodiversity.
"Giselle Courtney's Cape Town Fynbos Experience is our hot new pic on the floral calendar, offering fynbos tastings and apothecary workshops steeped in a wealth of knowledge about the Cape's rich botanical heritage."
